Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • ¼ cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • ¼ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  • Melt Butter: In a medium saucepan, melt ½ cup of butter over medium heat.
  • Cook Garlic: Add 1 teaspoon of minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.
  • Add Lemon Juice and Broth: Stir in juice of ½ lemon and ¼ cup of chicken broth. Let it simmer for a few minutes to blend the flavors.
  • Stir in Cream: Add ¼ cup of heavy cream to the saucepan and stir to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 4-6 minutes, until it thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  • Serve: Pour the sauce over your favorite fish, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley and cracked black pepper if desired.

Notes

    • Lemon Juice: For the best flavor, always use fresh lemon juice. It adds brightness to the sauce that enhances the fish.
    • Consistency: If the sauce is too thick, add a little more chicken broth or water to thin it out. If it’s too thin, let it simmer longer to thicken.
    • Storage: Store any leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days, or freeze it for up to 3 months.
