Ingredients

  • ice water for cooling

  • 2 tablespoons gochujang
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • 2/3 cup chicken stock or water
  • 1 clove garlic minced

Instructions
 

  • Boil the eggs for seven minutes to get a soft jammy center.
  • Place the eggs in ice water until cooled, then peel.
  • Mix gochujang, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, and stock in a bowl.
  • Warm garlic in a skillet until fragrant, then pour in the sauce.
  • Add the eggs and simmer until they are coated and glossy.
  • Let the eggs rest in the sauce for deeper flavor before serving.

Notes

Jammy eggs hold the most flavor.
Resting helps the sauce soak in.
Water can replace stock for a lighter taste.
Garnish adds freshness and contrast.
