- Cake:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup butter
- 1 ¾ cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
- 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries
- Frosting:
- 1 cup butter
- 3 –4 cups powdered sugar
- ½ cup strawberry puree
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Pinch salt
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease cake pans.
Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
Beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Add dry mix and milk slowly.
Fold in strawberries.
Bake 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.
Make frosting and frost cake.
Use room temperature ingredients.
Do not overmix.
Cool cake before frosting.
